About Me
SHANI (Shay nee) born on Christmas Day to Caron & Kenny Cantor in 1991, so at this time she is 19 years old. SHANI is the 6th generation of her family in Show Business, and has certainly made a great start to her chosen career at such an early age.
Singing is her first love, and great things are destined for her. A really bright girl who works hard at what she does. A superb accomplishment in March 2009 was at Gorleston Music Festival where she received an ‘outstanding’ mark for her vocal ability. Together with the overall Trophy.
Starting at a very early age, SHANI was in several big production shows singing and dancing when Mum & Dad were Producing, Directing, & Booking all the entertainment for Parkdean Holidays, this has held her in good stead as since then she has appeared in Pantomime in the title role of “Red Riding Hood”. Fairy in Dick Whittington and his Cat both at the Comedy Theatre in Lowestoft, plus 3 pantomimes with the Lowestoft Players. She was Annie in the Musical “Annie” at the Public Hall Theatre, Beccles, Marta in the Sound of Music at the Marina Theatre Lowestoft. She has appeared with her father in variety, at the Famous London Palladium where they did a double with Me & My Shadow. Then at both the London Palladium and the Drury Lane Theatre Royal with her mother. In between all these wonderful appearances SHANI has starred many times in the Cantor’s Theatre School shows, which have been numerous. At the end of 2006 SHANI was in the National tour of “Annie”, with Ruth Madoc as Miss Hanagan.
2005/6 SHANI was Snow White in “Snow White & the 7 Dwarfs” which won her great acclaim with both press and public alike as an actress & singer. 2006/7 SHANI was once again in “Dick Whittington & his Wonderful Cat” playing Fairy, and she taught the vocal harmonies to the whole cast as well. 2007/8 Shani was in the title role of ‘Goldilocks’ at the Fisher Theatre Bungay beside Helen McDermott, again to great acclaim from the press and everyone who saw the pantomime. 2008/9 SHANI sees her as Principal Girl in Aladdin at the Pavilion Theatre, Gorleston
A very reliable young performer, who deserves to go a long way in the business. SHANI received her diploma at 13 years old from the THAMES VALLEY UNIVERSITY and is now an Associate of the London College of Music (normally taken at around 17 years old) and has A.L.C.M. after her name and is now fully qualified to actually teach musical theatre, so she now teaches singing too, at her very own singing Academy.
SHANI has just appeared as ‘The Journalist’ at Snape Maltings Concert Hall in the World Premier of the modern Opera “Tarantula in Petrol Blue” directed by Bijan Sheibani, music and Lyrics by Anna Meridith & Philip Ridley and receiving extremely good accolades for her role.
SHANI put twenty one of her students in for the THAMES VALLEY UNIVERSITY singing exams, and twenty one passed ~ most with distinctions & merits ~ they tell her that she was the youngest singing teacher to ever put anyone in for exams.
SHANI is currently at the Italia Conti Academy for Theatre Arts in London ~ arguably the very best theatre school in the UK where she continues until July.
