About Me

In 2008 my wife and I moved to Cornwall where acting opportunities are limited to say the least.
However, I have been in and out of work as an actor (chiefly touring and understudy work) since leaving the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2000, supplementing a career in publishing, and helping to run a skincare and spa therapy consultancy from home with my wife, Jenny.

As I approach retirement age, I find myself with time on my hands and would like to put my life and acting skills to work with extras or walk-on work.

Experience & Qualifications

General Experience

Since leaving the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2000 at the age of 50, Robert's TV credits have included Casualty and 999 Lifesavers. Film roles in Living In Hope (Fluidity Films) and A Quiet Day In (Illusion Films). Theatre seasons with Shakespeare At The Tobacco Factory and Bristol Old Vic. Two years ago I played Captain Hook in panto at the Gala Theatre Durham (my own personal Hamlet!) Tours abroad include New Triad Theatre, and work with roleplay organisations. Robert lives in Cornwall. Before moving there he collaborated with Chris Garner and author Paul Downey on a theatre project on the lives of the Dymock Poets at the Cheltenham Everyman. As understudy, he took over from the injured Tony Britton in a tour of Old World, for Ivan Hale Associates, at Colchester, and continued in the role, opposite Angela Thorne. The production, a two-hander, was directed by Christopher Morahan.
