Employment History & Experience

Most recently, Rachael appeared with Leeds Arts Centre in their production of JB Priestly's "The Rose and Crown", in which she took on the role of Ivy Randle. This follows her experience in stage work through opera and musical theatre (continued in Music Employment).
To ensure her portrayal of characters remains at a high quality, Rachael has taken part in several workshops, including "Script VS Score", a course designed specifically for giving singers some extra guidance for stagecraft, with the company And So Forth. This involved an afternoon of workshops with the company's director, exploring monologues and characterisation.

Employment History & Experience

Rachael has successfully auditioned for many operatic and musical theatre roles. In 2015 she appeared with The National Youth Music Theatre at St James' Theatre, in which she performed "Jennifer" in Brunger&Cleary's critically acclaimed new musical "Prodigy". Since then Rachael has taken on operatic roles, including Lay Sister (Suor Angelica) and 2nd Witch (Dido and Aeneas) as well as various chorus roles in productions at Leeds College of Music. Professional operatic engagements include Armelinde (Cendrillon) with Northern Opera Group and Mrs Herring in Aspect Opera's production of Albert Herring (currently in rehearsals).

In 2016, Rachael was asked to join 80's icon Marc Almond for two performances at Leeds Town Hall and the Royal Festival Hall, London.

She has received several awards for singing, including the Margaret Markland Choral Scholarship (2015-2016), the Rotary Cooke-Webster Prize (2016) and the Gold Award for English Word and Song (2017).
