About Me
Hi there!
My name's Phil Murphy and I am a performer/showman who loves to put on a show that entertains, surprises, and gives the audience something to remember. I have done a series of charity and paid events to sellout audiences in clubs and pubs around Manchester, performing tributes, singing, dancing, dressing up like a ghostbuster, changing from the Phantom of the Opera into Freddie Mercury, I have even DJed and organized full events (over 6 hours music) and through my enthusiasm and energy have managed to build up a following. I really want to take this to the next level and be able to work towards being able to perform as a career.
I'm a friendly, likeable guy and am happy to do free gigs for good causes, and I go the extra mile with everything I do. Would love to be considered for auditions and also would be very grateful if you could view my showreel or listen to some audio clips to see if I'd be good for you.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Employment History & Experience
I have a very broad vocal range and I have a pitch perfect ear. My singing teacher has advised me that my main vocal range is Tenor. I have a rock/pop/musical theatre style singing voice.
I used to be the lead singer and songwriter in a band called Groucho and we played a large number of gigs Nationally including The Liverpool Cavern, The Middleton Civic supporting the Bluetones and also Manchester Academy 1 supporting the Complete Stone Roses to 3000 people.
Since leaving the band and more recently over the last year I have performed a series of tribute acts to a high level as charity and paid concerts in clubs and pubs. Tributes include Freddie Mercury, The Phantom of the Opera, David Bowie, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, The Blues Brothers, The Beatles and Michael Jackson. I single handedly organized an event at our local social club, performing with short breaks from 7.30 until 12.00 and then did the DJing afterwards, which as quoted by the club has been the 'best night the Cheadle Social Club has ever put on', and on this night I performed all of the above tributes and provided all of the music in the breaks by recording the full backing for the night in advance and mixing it myself.
I love performing and though my vocals are continuing to improve as I do more and more gigs and lessons, in my performances I have an enthusiasm and energy on the stage that gives me an edge over other singers, and I also genuinely want to entertain people, I take pride in being able to put on the best show I possibly can with the budget and time I have.
Over the last 6 months I have helped raise £2800 for Beechwood Cancer Care and Help For Heroes performing these tributes and also my own singing sets of selected music that matches the audience's taste.
I have been taking singing lessons with the hope of pursuing a stable career in musical theatre.
I am currently in full time employment but will be leaving this September because I would like a change of career.
My ambition is to be the lead performer in a Musical.
Dancing
Experience
Employment History & Experience
I have danced in choreographed routines on the tribute nights I have done, and also I try to pull off the mannerisms and body movements of artists like Freddie Mercury, Elvis and Michael Jackson. I can learn routines quickly and I have good rhythm.

Other Information
Interests & Hobbies
I love Japanese culture and lived and worked for a year in Japan with my wife and was intrigued and fascinated by the experience and I would like to go back there one day. I am very interested in music and love to sing, play guitar, record and write songs. I also enjoy going to watch live music and open air events. My favourite gigs have been David Bowie and Ryuichi Sakamoto.
I like watching films, eating exotic food and going to the Gym. I play football for the work's team in an amateur power league, and have also done a few charity runs.
I go to a pub quiz every week with friends and family, and last year we won the shield, but seem to have lost our touch since.
