General Experience

Over 40 years performing major and minor roles in light opera, musicals and plays. Roles performed at Wimbledon Theatre include Mr Brownlow (Oliver!), Rusty Charlie (Guys and Dolls), Professor (South Pacific). Other roles with the same company include Capt Mainwaring (Dads' Army), Sgt Meryll (The Yeomen of the Guard), Roderigo (Babes in Toyland). Previous roles include Peachum (The Beggars' Opera) and Dick Deadeye (HMS Pinafore)

In addition to acting I am an accomplished musician, playing the piano to professional standard and also making vocal and orchestral arrangements. I can sightread well, transpose as well as playing by ear od improvising if required. I have made reduced orchestral arrangements (14 piece) of Carmen, Die Fledermaus, The Pirates of Penzance and Babes in Toyland. I have also made numerous vocal arrangements of numbers for concerts which I have conducted.

I also play the church organ and paly piano for reviews, music hall, cabaret and other similar shows including some at hte Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Interests & Hobbies

As well as music I play tennis regularly. I used to play football and squash frequently as well.

Miscellaneous Information

I don't have any other full time commitments so am frequently available. I drive and own a car and a bicycle.
