About Me

I am an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in the film, television and design industry. I have experience working on set, within a studio and on location and would love the opportunity to gain some more. With good communication skills I can show professionalism when working with others and respond well to stressful unexpected situations. I am a creative thinker and professional in my approach to the task at hand.
My degree gave me the opportunity to experience all sectors of the art department and has given me the base understanding of the film and television industry. As well as hard working I am also prepared to take on various roles and work irregular hours.

Work Experience
Gwaith Cartref, S4C (2011):
Creating various props and sourcing props from shops, markets and prop houses to dress a collection of different sets. This experience taught me the importance of organisation and communication in order to complete tasks within time-scales in a very busy environment.

Orcus, Coleg Gwent (Production Designer for final year production, 2010):
This was a three week project which began with selecting a project from several pitches by groups of film students. I first selected the strongest concept with which I felt I had the closest connection artistically. Having agreed a vision of the final product we sourced material and completed each stage of building the set from start to finish. This gave me the opportunity to gain experience of all stages and roles of set design.

Previous employment

Company name: Superhire Props limited, North Acton
Dates employed: March 2015- December 2015
Role: Bookman
Duties: Assisting buyers and designers in selecting props. To offer input and advice when requested. Creating contracts and overseeing the job from start to finish to ensure the correct items go out on time.

During this 7 month gap I made my move to London. I felt this a good time to brush up on my skills and started an independent project. I designed a bar based on surveyed drawings I made whilst at Fino lounge in Cardiff. I created detailed mood boards on Gimp, Cad drawings and models with Sketch up and foam board. In this time I was also seeking employment and worked on other parts of my portfolio and gained some work experience.

Company name: Fino Lounge Whitchurch

Role: Supervisor
Duties: To act as Manager whilst running shifts, following health and safety procedures. Cellar management, stock control, ordering and event organisation.
