About Me

Hi there,

My name is Nazareth Sousa Coutinho and I am a 27 year-old creative, singer, performer, actress, songwriter and lover and advocate of the arts. From a very young age I always showed a particular fascination for the breadth of possibility found in the artistic world.

Music and Dramatics have always been the driving forces of my life. As an acting student, my training looked at areas such as Greek Tragedies, Shakespearean Theatre, Theatre of the Absurd, Modern Theatre and Portuguese Theatre. In this course, the syllabus also covered topics such as history and the aesthetics of art, dramaturgy (script analysis), body movement and vocal techniques. We also learned the basics of stage combat, (which was particularly exciting).

I am very fortunate to have been able to explore these art forms professionally and academically and I believe that having this knowledge is a responsibility that I am more than wiling to wield and honour.

As an Acting professional my experience is relatively lacking as I ended up going to a Music University in London and have lived here ever since. Although before moving to London I had one year of intensive professional stage experience collaborating with very prestigious actors and directors of the Portuguese Theatre scene that taught me the values, morals and importance of the job as well as how to utilise my experience and get the best out of my characters. Even though it was short I am still extremely grateful for this as it was invaluable and integral for my personal and professional growth. Even though it was a long time ago this is still something that I find very much part of me today.

With Music however, I had and have quite a different professional relationship. I have always been hired to perform at venues and events, and worked with many artists on their musical careers, projects, performances and compositions/productions.
