About Me
I am an enthusiastic and bubbly person who is strong minded to work to the best of my ability. I am friendly and approachable and make friends easily. I am supportive to people when they need help and I work well in a team as well as take direction as I am currently the secretary of the ‘Sikh society’ marketing and organising events as well as selling tickets and sikh society merchandising. I was previously specified a pastoral prefect for students, one of the activities involved is giving that extra help to students with slow academic learning in order for them gain confidence within themselves and to show improvement. My affection also shines through my previous charity work involving working at the’ British Heart Foundation’ and the ‘Princes Trust’. I am extremely motivated and take great interest in the media world as I know this is where my future career is. I have previously worked along side the fashion editor of the Asian fashion magazine ‘Asiana’. I’m not scared of a challenge due to my previous work in journalism where I’ve recently interviewed the Bollywood Star ‘Sha Rukh Khan’ as well as the well renowned film director of ‘Bend it like Beckham’ Gurinder Chadha.

Employment History & Experience
Simply bhangra.com, London/Birmingham 2009-2010
I worked for a leading Asian music orientated website portraying information on all the Asian celebrity highlights from the UK Bhangra Charts to the latest Bollywood films out on release. This job definitely boosted my confidence as I met and interviewed many different people as well as some familiar faces within the media industry. This was extremely exciting however, ultimately demanding as I was asked to produce coherent and high quality interview questions as well as constructing an appealing article within a specific time deadline. This enhances my motivation as I can successfully complete tasks to the best of my ability as well as keeping to strict time limits. I have recently interviewed the 'west is west' stars including Om Puri and Aquib Khan.
Radio XL, Birmingham 2010
Whilst working at Radio XL, I was honoured to have experienced live broadcasting on the radio, talking with flamboyance whilst my adrenalin levels were at a climax. The time I spent made me fully aware of the sway that the media holds; conveying news, facts, opinions, advertising, engaging the community via ‘phone-ins’ and soliciting their views. I was also exposed to a wide range of ICT software which I became very familiar with which maintained organisational skills of scheduling the show.
Lush Radio Leicester 2011
I have my very own radio show at the University of Leicester dedicated to the latest show bizz news, music charts and latest singles.

Asiana Magasine, Central London
Working for Asiana me a diverse plethora of innovative experiences, witnessing live fashion, beauty and real life style shoots whilst interviewing potential models for ‘street style’-the latest fashion trends of the season. I helped direct photo shoots along side the fashion editor, in order to create a ‘tropical’ and ‘cultural feel’ for the summer spread of 2009. I created a funky fresh look on the models by coordinating exquisite outfits and sculpting different styles of hair and makeup to suit this. I had a very friendly approach to meeting different people each day, and maintained a positive attitude throughout.
Princes Trust, East London and British Heart Foundation
I experienced a part time job on Saturdays for the British Heart Foundation. I was an active member of the charity; sorting, ironing, pricing and hanging clothes in preparation to sell. I sold to women, men and children hence found it an enjoyable experience engaging with customers. I occasionally went to Princes Trust in East London in order to help people of similar age range that are less able in life, regain their education thus acquire sufficient qualifications to get a job. I found this a very positive experience, as we all worked as a team to insure friendship, determination and encouragement.
