About Me

I'm a retired Accountant with a lot of time on my hands now. I'm articulate, have a good sense of humour, and love winding people up! My claim to fame is that I've been shortlisted for 'The Chase' television quiz, and I used to be in the same quiz team as The Beast, Mark Labbett. I've been married for 34 years to the long-suffering Eileen, and have 3 grown-up children. I love quizzing, watching all sports, wine, opera, and reading.

General Experience

I've been a manager in accounting centres, responsible for up to 35 clerks and subordinates. I've also been a supervisor on audits, and in charge of up to 4 staff. In a social environment, I have captained quiz, football, and cricket teams.

Qualifications & Training

I am a qualified Chartered Accountant, and worked for both Spicer & Pegler, and Ernst & Whinney (Chartered Accounting firms). From 1987, I worked for commercial organisations, and retired from DHL in December 2016.
