About Me

Miguel Fonseca is a keyboard player, music composer and arranger, with skills such as Music Production, Sound Engineering and AV Post Production editing.
Before graduating with a BA(Hons) Music Technology degree in Thames Valley University (London), Miguel was involved in production/design, both in the sound and graphic sectors, as well as a flirtation with linguistics and human sciences that led to the academic study of Compared Literature in Lisbon.
In 2003, his songwriting led to a release in a compilation of bands/solo projects in Sony Music - Portugal. Later collaborations include writing lyrics for artists such as Art Singer and Boom Jinx. His recent endeavours include building a portfolio of music for film and delving deeper into Sound Design possibilities.
He has lately been casually involved in casting work for major film producers and a corporate video.
He is also a Games Tester providing language-based quality assurance for Sony Entertainment titles.

Interests & Hobbies

Music is naturally my main interest but I try to be fairly eclectic in the way I spend my free time. I am not particularly interested, yet up-to-date in terms of mainstream music, but hold a special interest in independent music and subcultures, so you might find me listening to Indie Rock, some forms of pop Electronica that stay "outside-the-box", some classical music and jazz classics, film music (for study purposes), and some world music (particularly Brazilian and Portuguese).

I am currently developing my portfolio of work in film music, but I still indulge some down time on social networks and simply practicing my piano skills by playing some favorite songs of mine. Other activities include researching the science of recording and staying up-to-date on new developments, writing essays on the subject, and meeting up with friends so we can "catch up" on each other's latest developments.
