Trained on the NCDT accredited 3 year BA Acting and Performance course at Queen Margarets. During his training he was selected as a BBC Carleton Hobbs Award nominee.

As a child he was part of NYMT (in 2003), performing in 'Spider Dance,' as well as performing on screen, playing the part of the milkman's assistant in the BBC's 'Eastenders.' He also won Best Newcomer at the Highgate film festival for the short film 'Jelly.'

Whilst at Drama School he played various parts including Toad in 'Wind in the Willows' and Caliban in 'The Tempest'. Matthew also played the part of Martin in a short film 'Friends Reunited.' As well as this he performed in the full length film, 'Lottery' produced by Camera Shy Productions.

After graduating from QMU, Matthew stayed in Edinburgh to perform in the fringe show 'The Butler Did It!? - The Musical' playing at the Gilded Balloon. He then moved to London where he currently plies his trade.

Since QMU he has performed tours in Madrid and Moscow, partaken in rehearsed readings, filmed various short films and acted in a site specific theatre piece. Matthew has also had a lead role in a sitcom pilot, filmed a charity advert, recorded ADR for a short film and worked with an artist on an installment. He also works in medical teaching centres as a roleplayer.

Worked for Whizz Kids as a child on many a different television programme and film. Also worked for Ray Knights and Guys and Dolls as an adult on various different projects.
