My name is Maria Carr, I am 19 years old and I love singing. After being adopted at 4 and then put into
care at 12, I've moved around the UK a lot, but I see it as a positive because its given me the
opportunity to experience music in different places, and learn new things. I started singing at the age of
6, I would sing everywhere and anywhere if i was upset i would sing, if i was angry i would sing and if i
was happy i would sing. You could say music was my company. I feel that my life in music has been a
continious ladder and my goal has been to join the west end. "Some people believe in god i believe in
music, some people pray i turn up the radio. Music makes the world go round".

General Experience

From the age of 6, I have attended a range of Theatre schools, starting off with Stagecoach, Bodyworks
and Finishing with Theatre Train. Theatretrain gave me the opportunity to sing solo at the Dominion
Theatre at 8 and again at 17 at the Palace Theatre in Manchester. I have also joined amateur dramatic
societies, and youth theatre clubs as a hobby. At the age of 18 I joined a function Band as the lead
vocalist who i was with for 18 months, We functioned weddings, parties as well as pub gigs performing
across manchester, sheffield and derbyshire. Since then I have become a solo singer and joined with
Link Entertainment. I perform solo gigs across venues over the UK. I have never wrote my own songs
