About Me

Maia Leckey is a Creative Artist with an interest in singing and acting. She has appeared in many shows and performances both in and out of School and University. Whilst at School she took part in the Saffron Walden Music Festival for three years and won a medal in her final year (2018) for her performance of ‘I’ll Be Here’ from ‘Ordinary Days’. During her time at school she was also in multiple choirs for seven years (Chamber Choir, Show Choir and Voices). In both Show Choir and Chamber Choir she performed solos. She also took part in an after school LAMDA group for seven years where she performed songs from Musical Theatre Shows including ‘She’s In Love’ from The Little Mermaid, Dentist from Little Shop Of Horrors and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee from the Musical of the same name. With this group she achieved a Grade 6 LAMDA qualification. Outside of School she has been in various productions as well with the Saffron Walden Youth Musical Theatre Group. She was a member of this group for three years. At the end of 2018 to the beginning of 2019 she was involved in the Cambridge Operatic Society and was in a local production of ‘My Fair Lady’ with them at the Cambridge Arts Theatre. In the summer of 2019 she took part in a competition for National Theatre’s Connections where she performed with a group of 17-19 Year Olds in Norwich. In October 2021 she took part in Bedford’s Halloween Town Festival as a Day Of The Dead Actress. Maia has grade 8 Singing and Grade 5 Flute as well as being a self-taught ukeleleist and pianist. Currently she has just graduated from the University of Bedfordshire with a 2:1 grade in her Acting Degree. She loves singing as well as acting and is extremely passionate about singing and music.
