About Me

I trained as a director at The Rose Bruford School of Speech and Drama, I started my theatrical career as an actress, appearing in several productions at the Royal Court Theatre, including playing the lead role in Winsome Pinnock’s ‘A Rock in Water’ at the Royal Court’s Theatre Upstairs.

As a writer/director I worked on my own play ‘Paper Angels’ presented at The Royal Court Studio. I have also written and directed five children’s plays and have worked extensively with the EAZ (Education Action Zone) in Westminster.

In 2002 I directed a revue for the Seriously Comical Collective: ‘Incompatibly Yours’ which was staged at the Pegasus Theatre, Oxford, and The Lyric, Hammersmith as we as directing ‘The Thing About Shirley’ at the Hackney Empire. In 2007 I directed ‘Become a Man’ a play about Fredrick Douglass which was staged at City Hall and Hackney Empire as part of the Commemoration of Slavery. In 2009 I returned to acting and featuring in ‘Strictly Bingo’ at Hackney Empire, I am the founder of Twirl Performing Arts a part-time stage school for children aged 3-16. I am also a part-time lecturer in the Performing Arts department at City and Islington College.

I am very dedicated to the arts, and I enjoy all aspects of theatre, film, television and creative writing.
