About Me

I am 17 years old and I'm currently studying for my AS Levels in Gloucestershire. Acting has always been a passion of mine and, recently, singing has started to become a strong interest too. I have persistently been looking for ways to branch in to professional theatre and TV and I'm hoping that 2011 will be my lucky year! As a person, I like to believe that I'm extremely bubbly, vibrant and friendly. I find it easy to mix with new people whether that's on an individual basis or a crowd. I love to entertain and really make it my priority to make people laugh and to keep them interested in whatever I may be performing. I'm an extremely prominent character and I like to get myself out there having new experiences and meeting new people. I think of myself as very outgoing and sociable but with a professional edge too where I will constantly strive to push the boundaries of how far I think I can go!

I perform approximately three times a year with a local dramatics group in a Pantomime, Play and Musical. I have played principal parts in the last two pantomime productions and my most recent role was Gaston in the musical 'Beauty and The Beast'. This involved very demanding singing and characterisation that was a complete contrast to my normal self. I was cast as an extra in 'Skins - series 5' in 2011 and this was my first professional experience in television - something that I would very much like to build on and make a career from. I study drama at A-Level and like to think that I have picked up skills from that too!

My experience in music has been exclusively with musical theatre. As previously mentioned, my most recent singing experience was in 'Beauty and The Beast' as Gaston. I had to train my voice and gain stamina throughout rehearsals as it was a completely new style of singing for me. I have also recently started to sing in talent shows as well as in theatre.

The extent of my dancing experience is with musical theatre. In our production of Hello Dolly in 2009 I was a principal dancer as one of the 'waiters' in the 'Waiters Gallop' and this was extremely physically demanding and I class this as where my dancing experience was dramatically improved. I have also danced in other productions on a smaller scale.

My role as the Pantomime dame in our 2009 prroduction was the pinnacle of my 'entertainment experience' in which I really focussed on comedy and timing. This part involved comedic singing with accents and (hopefully!) entertaining body language. I am always looking for ways to make people laugh and have previously written some comedy scripts too.

Interests & Hobbies

In my spare time away from Sixth Form, I spend my time at my local amateur dramatics group The-DODS and perform with them three times a year. I love musical theatre and listening to their music and try my hardest to get to see professional productions! I spend the majority of my spare time, when I'm not acting, with my friends and socialising - just increasing my social skills!
