About Me
My passion for acting began at the tender age of three when approached to play the part of a Shepard in the all time favourite ' Nativity' story; from then on - I knew where my priorities lay. From an early age I began my training in small theatre groups; such as Jill Smith theatre school and The Frances Glynne theatre school, I received training for LAMDA examinations and throughout the years I have achieved grades 1 to Gold with honours, as well as achieving the RADA bronze Shakespeare award. My training really gave me a taste for the acting world, it taught me about all different genres and styles of acting; as well as the basics such as breathing and voice. I have been involved in many productions throughout the years such as ' Romeo and Juliet' where I played Juliet ( a labour of love as the script was not cut), ' Midsummer Nights dream' and ' Bugsy Malone' where I played Tallulah. As well as performance, I have also been in many dramatic festivals, where I won several trophies such as The prose Shield and the Junior championship award. I then went on to join the National Youth Theatre, which has been one of the best experiences I have had. The National Youth theatre allowed me to work with other like minded people and learn about practitioners such as Stanislavski and Laban. I have remained in contact with the National Youth Theatre.
My degree at Goldsmiths in Drama and Theatre arts has also been a great experience, the course at Goldsmiths has definitely broadened my horizons and taught me many new styles and forms of dramatic performance that I have never been exposed to before. Such as the work of Pina Bauche and The extraordinary works of Butoh. I have also been involved in site specific projects and have been able to look at different fields of theatre such as Lighting and sound and stage direction.
