About Me

Hi my name is Leigh Atkinson,

I am an actress/dancer/presenter entertainer who is seeking work within the industry . I have experience in entertainments and most recently have been involved in a short film, where I played role which has given me a real insight into engaging emotionally with a character, allowing myself to become the character and not just represent it.

I am eager to expand my acting portfolio and feel this will provide me a platform for my performing arts career.

I have finished my final year of university and have successfully completed BA Honors in Performing Arts, learning the discipline of contemporary dance and theatre. Through my time at university, my theatre studies included, learning various styles of acting techniques Stanislavski, Brecht, Commedia del’arte, Physical theatre (working with Frantic Assembly) and Shakespeare. This has enabled me to broaden my knowledge of acting/theatre and helped develop my confidence in breaking personal boundaries and limitations. From a young age I also went to drama classes and took LAMDA examinations in poetry, speaking of Verse and prose. Through all my studies, I have developed a confident and experienced way of speaking text aloud, engaging my audience by bringing poetry and text to life and becoming emotionally engaged with it. Also through my studies, I have learnt about diction and pronunciation.


From a young age I have attended dance classes taking up the disciplines of ballet, tap, modern, jazz and contemporary. All of which have an enabled me to develop my technique and becoming a more versatile performer.



I have recently been working abroad in Turkey working for TEDUK TEDtalent an entertainments company, were I was working as a presenter at a Holiday resort. My job involved an interactive fun lively kid’s hour, with high energy and enthusiasm, a Saturday morning kids TV feel. I also hosted game shows for the adults which involved a lot interaction with the audience. From this experience I am now very confident, I have learnt how to present myself and provide entertainment for both adults and children.
