About Me

My Grandfather once said, “Everybody dreams. Although some people stay dreaming, whilst others wake up, get off their backside and make the dream their reality”. This resignated with me.
As a young girl I was a dreamer. I liked to immerse myself into a make believe world and transform myself in time and character, this awoke a passion in me and began my journey into the arts. I wasn’t always the most confident child, but I found that I had the ability to draw on different characters emotions and situations to portray them effectively. This gave me inner strength and has impacted my whole life.

I am a quietly determined and driven individual, who aims high and despite the knock backs dares to achieve. To this end I have qualified to participate, against many odds at the highest level in equestrian Eventing, competing in all the Great British European trails and being selected for the national championships. This road to the championships proves grit and determination to detail.
In addition I have a healthy appetite and a competitive spirit for both team and individual sports. I have competed cross-country running, representing the county at national level and I am in the schools netball, hockey and swimming 1st teams. My sporting activities have taken me all around the country introducing me to a wide variety of people and has helped me to develop and adopt my communication skills. Whilst I enjoy my sport, my passion has always been performing. It is only when I am on stage that I feel courageous and confidant.
Throughout school I have performed in many productions and am currently playing the lead role in Henry IV. I have also auditioned and been in a touring production in the Theatre Royal. I also sing in the chamber choir and took part in the Schools national choir of the year competition run by the Barnado’s charity and performed on BBC’s songs of praise, individually singled out to be interviewed on film and aired.
I hold a position of strong responsibility at school: Head of house and performing arts prefect. Within these roles I have demonstrated compassion and understanding of others and the ability to bring my unique spirit and inspire and support younger members.
Within school I have been instrumental raising money for charity, competing in several 10K runs. The charity we support is the ‘Make a wish foundation’. It always astounds me the strength and courage that the children posses and it greatly humbles me.
For my GCSE drama practical performance we performed Find Me by Samuel French. This was challenging as we had to multirole various opposing characters. The most challenging part was playing Verity, as she is an autistic girl who portrays her emotions without any inhibitions. Through personal family experience I had a deep understanding of the situation and character, this inspired and motivated my acting performance and gained me an A*. This performance was extremely rewarding and it made me realise that the end performance is only going to be as good as how hard you’re willing to work and fight for it.
My AS year educated me as I studied different practitioners, their concepts of different types of theatre and in addition I did further voluntary reading about Artaud and Bercoff, critically analyzing their techniques. I focused my learning however on Brecht, as my final performance was of ‘The Caucasian Chalk Circle’ which I achieved an A in.

The subjects at school that I have thrived in are Drama, Art and PE. Particularly the practical side of which I consistently attain A/A*’s . Drama fascinates me and I have an insatiable appetite to study and perform
