About Me

Leigh Arnold is one of Ireland’s most well known young actors. A native of Foxrock Co. Dublin, her passion for fashion, people, performance and dance was obvious from a very young age. As a child in St Andrews College, Leigh won many awards for competitions in theatre and hence her ambition and determination to act was apparent. Leigh completed a degree in Psychology and Psychoanalysis from LSB College Dublin.


Her acting journey began in 2001 when she was accepted to the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York where she counts such legends as Robert Redford, Grace Kelly, Danny De Vito and Richard Gere as fellow Alumni. Whilst living and training for four years in New York, Leigh treaded the boards of some of the most well known theatres in the city.


Almost as soon as she completed her training at AADA, Leigh landed the role of Dr. Clodagh Delaney on the hit Irish TV series The Clinic, a role for which she is best known. Her hard work and talent over the seven series that she appeared in the show was recognised by the industry in 2007 when she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Irish Film and Television Awards.


Leigh finished filming her first feature film ‘Charlie Casanova’ in 2010 which was written and directed by Terry McMahon. Leigh won the award for best supporting actress at the LA Cinema Award for her role as Una. The film is due to premiere at the South by South West Festival in Austin Texas in 2011 where it has been nominated for numerous awards including Best Narrative Film.


Leigh’s theatre experience in Ireland includes, Gerry Stenbridges ‘The Grown Up’s’, at the Peacock Theatre, Helen of Troy in Michael Scotts ‘Trojan Women’, ‘The Vagina Monologues’, ‘My First Time’ and in 2010 saw her starring in the role of Mina in Michael Scotts ‘Dracula’ at the Tivoli Theatre.


Leigh combines her acting work with charity work and is an Ambassador for UNICEF Ireland. She has also spent time in South Africa with the Niall Mellon Foundation rebuilding the Townships outside Cape Town. In 2009 Leigh hosted a rock concert for the foundation with whom she continues to work vigorously with. She is currently in training for the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon and will be running on behalf of Childline with whom she actively campaigns.


Nominated as one of the Most Stylish Women in Ireland at 2009 VIP Style Awards, Leigh was also nominated for Best dressed Woman in Ireland and was voted by the public as one of the Top Sexiest Legs in the country so it is no surprise when the stunning beauty was asked to be ‘Lady Gosh’, the face of Gosh Cosmetics.


Leigh is very much in demand for Photo Shoots, TV Appearances and of course many acting roles. With the continued rise in her career, she is excited about what the future holds and feels now that she is ready to break into the British and American Film and T.V industry.

Used to working under extreme pressure and deadlines. I have been working in television since 2004 and am very experienced in working as part of a team and making the show as great as it can be. I am easy to work with and am very much a team player. Not in any way afraid of hard grafting and new challenges.

Interests & Hobbies

Cooking is my greatest rest and relaxation activity. That and driving. I have a passion for race car driving and love a good drive around a track to get the adrenaline pumping. I enjoy all forms of sports, including tennis, skiing and horseriding. I am also a keen reader and have a good book on the go always.

Miscellaneous Information

Although I have trained as an actress, my position in the television industry opened up many doors on other areas such as being part of a daytime lifestyle show with a panel of six women talking about life's dilemmas and current affairs. It required being constantly up to date with the news and what was going on in the world as often we would have last minute subject changes due to breaking news.
