Employment History & Experience
I have taken part in 2 pantomimes at college. I was lead in my second year and had a minor role in my first year. In my first year we performed Aladdin and in my second year we performed an original pantomime called 'Alice in Pantoland'. As the role of Alice, I was on stage the majority of the time and also had 2 solos.
I have also taken part in many musicals. The last two years I have been in The Wiz and Rock of Ages. In The Wiz I played the yellow brick road and was an extra. In Rock of Ages I was just an extra, but were in all choral songs. From the age of 6, I have been in musicals and various drama schools. I have also performed in plays like Annie, Oliver, Bugsy Malone and Little Shop of Horrors.
As well as these, I have done short plays as part of assessments that we sometimes showed to a paying audience One of my favourite short plays was the 100. I played the lead as The Guide and thought it was a great experience for me to find new ways to use my body. This character was very unique, they had sharp mood changes and didn't have a genre. I could really make this role my own. I also studied and performed some of the Threepenny Opera by Brecht. I multi rolled in this as we were short of cast, however I really enjoyed this as it was very different to what I am used to. One of my most recent performances was Road. This was part of an assessment, however we were able to direct, light and costume to show ourself. We cut the performance down to fit our time assigned, and again I multi rolled, but I enjoyed being able to make a show my own and have the freedom to try whatever I wanted.
In 2017 I completed TIE (theatre for education). As a performing arts company we toured schools around Burton, promoting the importance of maths and English to year 10 and 11 students. All work was created and devised by my group, and we had the opportunity to show this work around local high schools. This was a new experience as we had to adapt to new performance spaces at each school and sometimes they didn't have all the equipment we needed, so we had to improvise.
During my college years we also looked at TV and radio. We were invited to many workshops to build our skills and learn how to tone down theatre acting for television. We then put this into practice using cameras in performance. In each performance we had to make sure we had a variety of shots and angles. This was something new to me which I was not used to, but being able to film others, and be filmed was a fun experience. We also looked at radio. I was given an extract of writing that I had to perform in a radio style. This really got me thinking about how I could use my voice to make me sound more interesting as I couldn't use my body. I annotated the script with how I would use voice and rehearsed this up until the day of recording.

Employment History & Experience
I have been in many musicals and pantomimes which require me to use my voice. In my most recent pantomime I had two solos. I worked very closely with our singing teacher, having lessons once a week. He taught me things like: how to control my diaphragm, how I could create louder sounds and warm ups to keep my voice healthy.

Employment History & Experience
I have taken part for the last 2 years at Screamfest. This is a halloween event in Burton-On-Trent. I have been a unpaid scare actor for two years, completing a minimum of 4 nights each halloween. I worked in different attractions as different scares. You were told on the night what you would play, so you had a couple of hours to prepare. I learnt a lot from this experience, like how to look after my voice so I didn't damage it, how to use my body in new and obscure ways to startle an audience, how I could change my voice to fit a character and ways to work with other people to create a great scare.
