I have appeared in numerous stage appearances throughout my acting experience. I have been acting since a very early age and have appeared in many stage productions through out Primary and Secondary school which continued through to College and University. In College I directed the musical Grease and stood in for a male cast member at the last minute due to ill health.

My specialism in music is singing. I received vocal tuition at school and also at college. Throughout the later years of secondary school, two other girls alongside myself created our own 3 part vocal harmony group for which I took the higher vocals. In 2008 I entered a singing competition at Newcastle and progressed to the final where I performed in front of a crowd of 8,000 people. Although I did not win the competition, one of the judges approached me and invited me to sing in the restaurant of which he owned. I sang in this particular restaurant which was paid work for just over half a year. Following on from this I went down the pub route and took my own music equipment to various pubs to sing for paid weekend work during my college years. After finishing college, I then went to University where I continued singing in performances. I still continue to sing today.

General Experience

While studying performing arts, I had various jobs in the retail industry which allowed me to work with the general public. Working in retail helped me to develop people skills and to be more confident around others of all ages.

Qualifications & Training

While studying for a BTEC National Diploma in Musical Theatre at College, I took part in a module which included theatre for kids. Within this module, I led music and drama sessions where the children learnt how to warm up correctly before a performance. With the help from students on my course, we supported the children in devising a show within a set time period. I had great pleasure in assisting all participants and watching the end result. I found working with the children very inspiring and realized this is the career I wish to pursue in the future.

Following my successful course at College for which I received a result of Distinction, Merit, Merit, I attended Edge Hill University where I studied a BA (hons) in Drama and Music with Sound.

Relevant Skills

I am a friendly, hardworking person, capable of working on my own as well as a member of a team. I have good communication skills and I am very reliable. I get along with all kinds of people of all ages. Having worked alongside a youth theatre group for children at College, I have learnt that working with children is a preferred career path for me. Due to the course which I studied at University being a performing arts course, it has improved my level of confidence, the ability to meet deadlines and to work under pressure.

Interests & Hobbies

I enjoy socializing with friends and family, shopping, reading and singing. I have my own music system which I take great interest in especially when performing occasionally in pubs and specialized restaurants. But my main hobby is entertaining people. There is no greater feeling than seeing somebody appreciate your talents.

I am very keen to learn other disciplines within the performing arts sector and would welcome any help or guidance for me to extend my knowledge.
