About Me

I am 23 years old. I recently worked as a full time Curriculum and Welfare Assistant at a local school, where I delivered music workshops to some of the students. I like to think that I'm someone who is willing to have a go at a challenge regardless of difficulty.
It is important to me to support those close to me when they need help. For example, a highlight for me was helping a young nervous student that I had given lessons to, to perform in front of an audience and to have the confidence to do so.

I have found academic study challenging (I have aspergers syndrome), particularly in my early life, although I was determined to keep studying and achieve some qualifications, which I did in Media and Music. My Media tutor at college was prepared to take me on to a higher level, despite concerns that I might struggle, because she had noted my effort and enthusiasm during the course.
I don’t consider my aspergers as necessarily a disability as it is sometimes a ‘gift’. For example, I am very organised and focused on certain subjects. It would be unthinkable for me not to have learnt and perfected my lines by the deadline my drama teacher sets when I am performing in a production.

I have many interests from music, acting, theatre, football, science, politics and history. One of my hobbies is to watch my favourite football team, Crystal Palace, with my father. This includes me driving us to away matches, as it’s always exciting to see people and places in other parts of the country.

I also love music. I am self-taught with piano and have had 2 years of guitar lessons and 6 years of singing lessons. I also enjoy dancing, walking, reading, attending drama and dancing classes, watching certain films/television and spending time with my family and friends. I like reading autobiographies and in fact, reading Brian Blessed’s (who I am very fond of – he recently came to Rochester), was what alerted me to the Bristol Old Vic.

I enjoy humour and like studying interesting characters.
I sometimes do things people don’t expect. Recently, and unbeknown to anyone, I learned the words and dance routine from a Punjabi Pop Video (Veer Vaar) and, as a surprise, performed it at a Hindu/Seikh wedding of some friends of ours. It was recorded and sent to the original star who posted it on his facebook page. It now has over 2,500,000 views and he wants to meet me!
