About Me

PRESENTER, VOICEOVER ARTIST, VOCALIST AND SONGWRITER.

I am a professional vocalist and presenter. I have a proven track record of vocal success in the studio and in a live situation. I pride myself in being thorough and patient under direction, fun yet hard working and professional in the studio. I’m a fast learner and am quick thinking on my feet. I have a vast range of experience including children’s entertainment, theatre, music and dance workshops, session singing, voiceover and presenting. Not to mention a growing practice in radio and TV production and research.

Armed with a degree in Popular Music from Bretton Hall Univerity of Leeds Katy Anderson moved to London in 2004. Taking the stage name of Angel she has played at prestigious venues including the Roundhouse, Bush hall and The Jazz Café. Currently Angel holds a residency at The Blues Kitchen in Camden with the house Soul Band, playing 2 hours of Soul and Blues covers every Wednesday.
Katy's voice has been used in various sessions including TV and viral adverts.
Katy is currently working on original material and is often in the studio with exciting producers in London’s top recording studios (including Soho studios SNK and Meanwhile).
Katy's presenting talent can be seen on her own You Tube TV channel KT-TV and as co-presenter with Danny Steele on Jnet Radio and On Radio in the near future.
Katy's creativity and passion for music has driven her successfully through 6 years of full time self employment as freelance musician, broadcast assistant and office manager. This invaluable experience combined with my Popular Music degree has enabled her to develop key skills including perseverance, dedication, superb communication and organisation, a strong, commercial awareness and the ability to deliver efficiently on time and under pressure.

This fantastic opportunity allowed me to further develop my production and technical understanding in the broadcasting arena, I now appreciate my suitability to working within a high pressure environment, working closely with a demanding team of 4 quickly prioritising and delivering under tight deadlines.
My Key Responsibilities were;
• Direct reporting to producers and presenter.
• Briefed by the producer, under extreme time pressure and using relevant software (Startracker) I edited daily highlights of the show to forward to an external Voice Over Artist/Comedian for a 30 second comedic show summary.
• Gave practical assistance to breakfast show team ensuring that show ran smoothly.
• Collated guest, band and song notes using press releases sent from agents and/or sourcing information from the internet
• Researched daily news stories and brainstorming relevant ideas for use on the show.
• Music reporting
• Located songs from BBC Archive and input to the system database ready for air play
• Uploaded Album of the Day tracks for various shows including the Breakfast Show, Nemone, Huey Morgan and Steve LeMacq
• Edited elements as the show for long term future (including Sony Awards)
• Called and prepped any guests for telephone interviews live on air along with meeting and greeting on arrival
• Organised daily feature ‘Toast the Nation’ where listeners talk about their home town/city. Screening initial text/email contact and calling back to check suitability.

I read popular music at Bretton Hall and explored the history, theory, criticism, composition and performance of the subject. I gained hands on experience in organising and promoting public performances via press releases, radio coverage, website maintenance, leafleting and posters.
