About Me

Hi, I am Kazim Altan. I love acting and I am interested in parts for older man. I have experience in writing and showing monologues and participated in several festivals that took place at The Lost Theatre in London. I am part of the community theatre at the Arcola and first appeared in a play entitled \\\'Misbehaving\\\' in which I played Ali in a 20 minute monologue, an inmate at Guantanamo bay who is on hunger strike. This showed at the Lost theatre festival at a later stage as part of its week long solo festival. I am passionate about the classics and particularly good at playing sensitive parts although I have also done well in a show at the Arcola where I presented Cradeau,a character based on Sartre\\\'s \\\'No Exit\\\', an out of control psychotic. my repertoire in the classics include the priest in \\\'t\\\'s a Pity She is a Whore\\\' which I enjoyed playing alongside other tragic roles. I research and work hard on the characters I play and reviews reflect audience appreciation. I am bilingual, fluent in Turkish and English, educated in the UK to master\\\'s level and have many years of teaching and management experience. I feel I am a very safe \\\'gamble\\\', if it is thought that a relatively new actor in his mid 60s is a gable,and would love to play Prospero and Iago type of roles as well as taking part in modern plays. I enjoy team work and focus on directions till I achieve perfection. I love the arts.

General Experience

I have over 30 years of experience in education and training and 5years experience in acting. I have had 1:1 training in the classics and have attended Drama courses in improvisation and writing for the stage.

Qualifications & Training

Educated in the UK to Masters level in politics and sociology. I have teaching qualifications including TESL(Teaching English as a Second Language)and I have worked as an examiner with a number of exam boards including Trinity College.
