About Me

I am intelligent, well spoken and hard working. I have (in my opinion, obviously!) a good sense of humour. I love to meet new people and am interested in everyone. I believe everyone has a story to tell. I wish I'd worked harder in school. I'd love to go back to school now that I know the world really IS your oyster when you're in your late teens.

I dislike bullying, snobbery, injustice, racism and poverty (amongst other things) and am the type of person to step forward and say so.

General Experience

My only acting experience since school was in my twenties when I joined an amateur dramatic society in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience but personal circumstances meant that when I moved down to Devon I was unable to commit to the evening classes.

I set up a charity in 2005 for Women and Children in Africa and have been running this for the past 6 years raising over £100,000 for projects in four African countries. I've enjoyed this immensely but would love the chance to do something different!

Qualifications & Training

I have 8 O' levels, A level Law and a Post Graduate certificate as a Private and Executive Assistant with the LCCI.

Referred to by family and friends as a 'drama queen'. I'd love to have the chance to prove them right!

Interests & Hobbies

I love travel, photography and writing and would one day like to be able to combine all three of these passions.

I was born in Zanzibar and brought up in East Africa and my experiences there led me to setting up a small charity here in the UK six years ago. I am proud of this achievement - particularly of the many individuals and communities that we have been able to help.

Miscellaneous Information

I have two adult sons and a husband who is wonderfully supportive and wants me to fulfill my dreams. This application is a step in that direction.
