About Me

Previously worked as an Operations Manager with the William Hill Organisation up until taking early retirement at the end of March 2011. As well as doing the "day job", I spent quite a bit of time building up contacts with the media in order to help boost the Company profile. I have been appearing on Real Radio with Ewen and Roughie for the last 5 or 6 years as the Real Radio "Resident Bookie" and when Wm. Hill opened new shops I would host the two presenters in making personal appearances at the shop opening. On other occasions I have appeared on Radio Scotland and Smooth FM to quote odds on different events.
As the bookmaker of choice,both the BBC and STV had approached William Hill for interviews on sporting issues and I was the one who appeared in front of the camera with comments and quotes.

Experience & Qualifications

General Experience

No experience in doing any acting or "extra" work, but in my previous employment I appeared on television several times quoting betting odds for various events and was a regular contributor on Real Radio's Football Phone-In with Ewen Cameron and Alan Rough.

Qualifications & Training

No relevant qualifications or training, although working in the Bookmaking business for almost 40 years has given me great experience in dealing with all kinds of situations.

Relevant Skills

I think that a relevant skill is an ability to appear fairly natural when dealing with television interviews as every one was completed on one take. My experience of doing presentations in front of large groups has helped in dealing with interviews on both TV and Radio without any worry.

Interests & Hobbies

I like to go horse racing meetings when I get the chance and have recently taken up golf - again after 20 years.
