Guitar
I played classical guitar from the ages of 8-14, coached by Die Williamson and received grade 3 in classical guitar in cambridge music. I played rock guitar from the ages of 12-17, coached by liam and Bruce Hyland and received a grade 6 rock guitar in cambridge music.

Vocal
I have been going to Gerrie Durrheim a specialised vocal coach who also trains many professional singers in the industry. I was in the choir and the special elite Chamer Choir at St Peter’s preparatory school, under the director of music and Conductor Vaughan Van Zyl. I sung and played guitar in three swareas at St Peter’s College. I also acted and sung in three musical productions, Pirates of Penzaz (one of the leads) and Hair@age (one of the leads) and Moulon Rouge.

Other
I also can play drums, piano and most percussion insturments such as a timpani, glockenschpeel and marimba. I was taught by many Drum Teachers, the most skilled being my Percussion teacher, Hugo Root. I worked with Liam Hyland on two original tracks – you cqn take a listen on SoundCloud www.soundcloud.com/james-barney-pilkington/tracks . There is also a few more recent short covers. I am in the process of writing and recording my first album which will contain at least 6 new original songs.
