About Me

I am currently taking a gap year. My aim is to gain more experience, knowledge and to develop my acting skills, accumulate some savings and do some travelling.
I love performing, whether in a singing, dancing, acting or sporting context. In year 8 I took part in Stand By Me, (aka the Body by Stephen King) and although one of the youngest members of the cast, I was given the lead role as the bully Ace Merrill. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring human emotion and developing this menacing character. Working closely with others in a creative venture encouraged me to consider acting as a future career. I participated in every drama production possible and studied A2 Drama. The experiences on stage were exhilarating and memorable.
Academically I successfully achieved 52/54 in my practical piece in GCSE English Language, and achieved 77/80 in my performance in AS Drama. I am retaking the A2 written exam in order to achieve an overall A and I am also completing A2 English after transferring over from more science based subjects in year 12.
Acting has emerged as the prominent focus in my life. I have continued to develop my skills and knowledge and develop practical experience in a range of settings. Since October, I have been undertaking a Certificate in Performance Skills at Goldsmith’s College and become a member of a weekly acting classes with Anna Scher Theatre. I have been invited to take part in a production over the summer by the National Youth Theatre and have been offered a place on a production with Youth Music Theatre UK. I have been working in conjunction with ex- students, on various scripts, independent small-scale film productions and performances, further enhancing my knowledge and experience in the arts. I’m a member of the Lyric in Hammersmith, which entitles me access to the theatre productions and to projects that develop my awareness, skills and overall acting experience. I’m talented musically, with a strong Counter-Tenor voice and have been singing since I can remember. I sang solo and in a choir in all musical productions at school, and played percussion in the orchestra. I was a member of the Lambeth Music Service Choir, which handpicked the strongest singers from Lambeth schools to perform at a variety of venues including the Royal Festival Hall. Due to my commitment and musical achievements, I received the school Music Award in year 6 and in year 8. I am currently attending a weekly singing class at Goldsmith’s College and I also take part in a singing course at City Academy to further developing my vocal skills. To gain live experience I have sung in bars and venues around London, and I have also worked in various studios with aspiring artists, contributing to their lyrics and writing pieces of my own. I play football at semi-professional level and am also a qualified level 2 FA Coach, and I have used it as a part-time job alongside working part time at Sainsbury’s. The skills I have gained in the work environment such as
leadership, teamwork, working under pressure and improvisation are easily transferable to acting.
I have chosen to apply for courses, which offer vigorous and practical training. The demanding, high standards of these courses would equip me with more in-depth skills, knowledge and the opportunity to critically evaluate my own performance, preparing me for a highly competitive and challenging profession in the Performing Arts and assisting me in developing a stronger, more professional performance standard.
Acting and singing are skills you cannot obtain - only develop. I have never felt so passionate and alive as when performing. Through performance, I’ve experienced the ability to change the way the audience thinks and feels, from laughing to crying, loving to despising. This power is greater in acting than in any other form of entertainment in the world, and I intend to work towards my full potential in this brilliant line of work.
