About Me

My name is Ileana, and I've been a professional singer since 1997, working in theatres, sessions and gigs, and covering a wide range of contemporary styles (rock, soul, folk, jazz). I've been involved in various music projects and have been performing with different bands (“Ileana Di Camillo Jazz Quartet”, “No Age Four�Jazz!”, “Memphis Ladies�and Their Boys”, “The Blue Notes Jazz Band”, “Fair Island”, The Jazz Farm").
Now, I'm writing my own material and, as a member of the “Whimsy Sounds Vocal Trio” (with Diana Torti and Antonio De Lillis), I've just recorded an album called “Voices”.
I'm also a music educator, and I teach private singing lessons focused on vocal technique and jazz repertoire.

Sept 2005 – Dec 2010 Singing teacher
• Ran a private teaching studio, teaching students of various levels and abilities, specialising in contemporary vocal techniques, ear training, jazz repertoire and vocal improvisation (Rome, Italy).
• Held masterclasses on vocal improvisation at “FusionArte” music school in Cappelle dei Marsi, AQ, Italy (12/11/2010) and at “Accademia La Voce”, La Spezia, SP, Italy (11/04/2010).
• Worked as an occasional supply teacher at “VivaMusica – Professional Music School”, Rome, Italy.
• Volunteered as a teaching assistant at the “Fara Music Summer School 2010” (Fara Sabina, RI, Italy, 18-26 jul 2010), course on contemporary vocal techniques held by Antonio De Lillis and Elsa Baldini.

2009 – 2010 Singer/vocalist
• Singer with the “Whimsy Sounds Vocal Trio” (Ileana Di Camillo, Diana Torti, Antonio De Lillis). Recorded the album “Voices”, written and arranged by Sabino de Bari, playing with some of the most important jazz musicians in Rome, as the drummer Ettore Fioravanti and the pianist Paolo Tombolesi.
2007 – 2009 Singer/vocalist
• Lead vocalist with the bands "Ileana Di Camillo Jazz Quartet","Memphis Ladies�and their boys” "Fair Island", "No Age Four...Jazz!", "The Blue Notes Jazz Band", "The Jazz Farm". Performed in various venues (including Bebop Jazz Club, Cineporto, Fonclea, Lord Lichfield, Mahalia, Officina Belushi, Rockodile, Donegan’s), songfests, events and weddings.
2006 Singer/vocalist
• Soloist and session singer with the folk band “I Cerchi Magici”. Worked as a street performer and sang at several events such as the Rome Marathon 2006 (26/6/2006, Rome, Italy)
• Sang with the banjoist Lino Patruno at the “International Day of Relief” (29/05/2006, “Policlinico Universitario Gemelli”, Rome, Italy)
2004 Singer/vocalist
• Solo singer with “La Compagnia delle riviste di Marco Leandris” (Production: “Sentimental”, Director: Genny Landi). Performed and toured in various theatres in Rome and nearby (“Teatro Comunale di Fiuggi”, Fiuggi, RM, Italy, “Teatro dei Cocci”, Rome, Italy)
