About Me

Hi, my name is Ignas I’m 22 years old and I live in Manchester. I always been interested in all kind of arts but especially in theatre. I started acting when I was 12 years old in my home town in Lithuania. I have stayed in the same theatre for 5 years and travelled around Europe (Germany, Latvia, and Poland) as well as the biggest cities in Lithuania participating in theatre festivals. Being involved in Theatre world from such a young age I have developed high level of professionalism and understanding of my acting techniques.
At 17 years old I decided to move to England in search of my dreams. I came to this beautiful country knowing no English and went straight to college to do Acting. Because of my determination I adapted very fast and finished Level 2 Performing arts when I was 19 years old. Due to personal issues I had to stop my journey towards my biggest dream for 3 years but I came back stronger and with more courage and understanding about myself. I am dedicated to my craft completely and wish to have career in it. I love reading books and expending my knowledge about Theatre, different acting techniques and I am always in search of people who inspires me. Uta Hagen is one of my idols, her explanation of exercises on acting, helped me come to an understanding on how I can improve myself to become a real professional.
In my free time I love drawing and painting so at the moment I am preparing for my first exhibition. Because I am the person who likes to have everything in the right order and planned, this project of mine will come to realisation in the late spring of 2018. Besides drawing I also love writing poems in English and Lithuanian and for the past year I am putting my first poem book together. I haven’t set the deadline for this project as I like to take time and make it perfect so it is ready to be presented as well as I am.
Theatre always sets me free, as soon as I step on the stage I become the true me and I am no longer afraid to show different human beings in me. I believe that self-discovery never ends and the best way to discover myself is by creating and finding different characters in me.

General Experience

5 years of acting in Theatre in Lithuania.
Although I have a bag of experience being on the stage in front of full auditorium, theatre in England for me is a new experience. I have done several shows while I was at college in Hull, doing main roles as well as supporting roles.

Qualifications & Training

Level 2 In Performing Arts.

Received Acting training from an amazing Lithuanian actors and directors such as Violeta Miciuliene and Vidas Bareikis.

I am very professional when it comes to working with different people. I manage the time well and can work with very short deadlines. I am a risk taker, and I always try to say yes !

Interests & Hobbies

I love writing songs, poems, monologues and plays.
I use drawing and painting as a tool to get away from any problems I have.
I also play guitar and sing. I have very big passion for traveling and I am saving money for the trip next summer. I will be traveling as a volunteer helping people in need, as in my opinion we need to give to receive.
