Harriet P. Jenkins is a classically trained Mezzo-Soprano, training in both N Ireland & England to Diploma level under well known figures in the UK operatic & sacred vocal landscape. Harriet currently combines regular performances with teaching - including work at national music schools.
Recent professional performances include work with NI Opera, alongside recital work. Harriet is a former member of New Lyric Operatic Company, FitzTheatre & the Gryphon Consort. She has previously performed across the UK & Ireland at venues including St. Paul's Cathedral (London), Ely Cathedral (Ely), St. Hilda's College (Oxford), Fitzwilliam College (Cambridge), Robinson College (Cambridge), The Octogon (Derry/Londonderry), St. Columb's Cathedral (Derry/Londonderry),the RDS Concert Hall (Dublin) & Christchurch Cathedral (Dublin). Harriet had the pleasure of contributing to the Making Music "Sound Alliance" Convention & Choral Workshop with John Rutter in 2008 (where she was hosted by Making Music as a N Ireland Representative).
Previous performances include concert performances with professional orchestras (inc. NI Opera), performances in collaboration with the Ulster Museum, solo concert work, radio & television performances (BBC & RTE), formal dinner functions, alongside extensive choral work in the UK & Ireland. Experience also includes European touring work in Chamber Choirs & past-membership of national youth choirs.
Harriet maintains a wide and varied performance repetoire covering Classical, Operatic, Light Operatic, French Chanson, Lieder, Musical Theatre, Jazz, Popular & Sacred genres.

General Experience
Harriet studied at the University of Cambridge between 2003 & 2006, & subsequently attained a Masters degree in Musicology from University College Dublin. Notably throughout her studies she was employed by both universities as a Choral Scholar. In 2003 she attained her Cambridge Choral Scholarship following a written recommendation by Dr Richard Marlow (then Director of Music, Trinity College) flowing from her prior performance of the aria "Qui Sedes ad dexteram Patris" from Vivaldi's Gloria.
Harriet also has a Masters (MSc) degree in Management and Corporate Governance, adding a strong awareness of business and accountancy practices to her CV.
Vocally she is trained to Diploma standard, and is currently working with Opera Coach and former English National Opera performer Linda Snell. She attained her Grade 8 in Classical Singing in 2002 and has been teaching Singing in a national music school since 2008.
