Present - Freelance Digital Science Communicator, Hello Science
Run my own science communication business, focusing on delivery through new media including film, animation, and audio pod-casts.
At present have carried out or am currently engaged in projects for Edinburgh University, Scottish Power, The Scottish Earth Science Education Forum (SESEF), The Scottish Mining Museum and the Scottish Sea Bird Centre.
2007-2010 - Education Officer, Our Dynamic Earth
Planning, design and delivery of hour long lessons for school groups visiting the centre. All lessons meet the Scottish curriculum for excellence and cater for kids aged 3-18.
In charge of secondary school level (10-18yrs) programs at Our Dynamic Earth. Designed and delivered workshops on all areas of earth science including. Volcanoes, Evolution, Climate Change, Tropical Rain-forests, and Biomes.
Responsible for design and delivery of nursery (3-5yrs) and primary (5-9) school groups.
Wrote and delivered summer science shows for general public audience concerning topical science.
Designed pre and post visit resources for school including materials, workshops, pod-casts, blogs and animations
2006-2007 Presenter, SCI-FUN
Responsible for delivery of outreach science shows to primary and secondary aged children at schools all around Scotland
