About Me
Personal statement
I am interested in being an extra and modelling work. Having been involved in performing most of my life I feel I would be well suited to this and I would love to be given the opportunity. I have past experience with modelling work, I was chosen by an artist in York to do dance as well as normal modelling. My dream ambition is to perform on West End and become a professional dancer.
I am currently enjoying the Foundation Course at London Studio Centre. I have refined my technique in dance, singing and drama as well becoming more confident as a performer. I was chosen for a third year's practical dissertation, which expanded my knowledge of portraying emotion through movement.
I attended Kirkham Henry Performing Arts School from a young age until I went to London Studio Cente after I finished my A Levels. I trained in Drama, Singing, Jazz, Tap, Ballet and more recently Contemporary. I was awarded a trophies at Kirkham Henry for Contemporary and Drama.
I was a member of Ryedale Youth Theatre; I loved participating in their shows, gaining stage experience and learning about different dance and theatre styles. I took part in six productions with principle roles in Cats (Jellicle Cat, 2013) and Starlight Express (Volta, 2014). I performed ballets, most recently 'Coppelia' in which I was one of Swanhilde's friends (pointe work). Last Year I took part in a Contemporary workshop led by Sophia Hurdley (previously in Matthew Bourne's company). I learnt more about expressing myself through dance. I applied my creative skills in co-choreographing a dance duet in my school production of 'Witches' for which I received a lot of praise.
I have Grades 4-8 LAMDA examinations, reaching a distinction in my Grade 8. I have also achieved a merit in Grade 8 RAD and Gold Bar One Jazz (honors), Also I have musical expertise, appreciation and understanding from playing the violin to Grade 6 (merit).
I achieved 10 GCSE's gaining 6 'B' and 4 'A' grades. I attained grade 'A' in the performance section of my GCSE Drama which I took through Kirkham Henry two years prior to my other GCSE's, and completed it in one year rather than two. I accomplished a grade 'A' in GCSE Music, with 100% in my composition. In my PE AS level I gained a grade A with 88% in the performance section, in which I performed a Contemporary Dance solo and then taught a fellow student the dance, for which I was marked on my teaching skills. I help the PE staff teach Dance in Year 7 lessons. My 'A' level courses in PE and Biology taught me about training methods, lifestyle factors and risks related to performance and History gives me a further perspective. In Drama I have enjoyed directing my own pieces of theatre.
I assisted in Grades 1 and 3 ballet classes and singing classes at Kirkham Henry. I helped prepare the children for exams, taught new steps and improved their technique. I loved the responsibility of working with the children as they looked up to me and I felt privileged to share what I have been taught.
I showed determination and leadership during my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. There were occasions when I led the group to keep them motivated to reach our destination. As part of this award I volunteered at a charity called 'Nuzzlets' which works with special needs children, and seeing them smiling at the site of the animals was a lovely thing to experience. I also work as a waitress and a have to maintain a calm and approachable manner with the public.
My ambition ever since a young age has been to perform and entertain and I have lots of past experience, therefore I feel I would be well suited to extra work and modelling work and I would love the opportunity.
