About Me


Godfrey Brandt was the Founder and Programme Director for the MA in Arts Policy and Management. Having trained and worked as a primary teacher in Georgetown, Guyana, he received further retraining as a specialist actor/teacher/director and a teacher of Drama and English at The Central School of Speech and Drama.
His post graduate studies were in the Sociology of Education , language and Culture. He has worked, inter alia, as a teacher, youth worker, university lecturer/teacher trainer and researcher, Head of Education at the Arts Council and, as Director of Education (and Arts/cultural Programming) at the Commonwealth Institute. He has been a director of Youth and fringe theatre i London. His private passions are the arts in general, and theatre, music and literature in particular. His writing has included poetry, prose and drama and also a number of academic papers, published articles and books. He is currently working on a number of writing projects.
