About Me
5,6,7,8 Now don't you think that they are great words to say? Well, I do! To me, dance is my passion. I am a strong contemporary dancer with a fusion based style. The collaboration of contemporary and commercial makes my style of performance and choreography unique, and expresses with clarity a revolutionised performance ability that can be inspiring. My individual style is quirky, and holds an eye catching perception. As well as my strong performance ability, I feel that my technique and skills are shown through the rehearsal process as I have strong Improvisational skills with contact work, I am committed and have the ability to work well within a company. I have great passion about dance, and my goal is to express my passion through my choreographic skills and performance skills. I feel that when I am dancing, I let myself go and tend to create challenging choreography. I enjoy every aspect of dance and feel that life can be like the choreographic process. However you start, good or bad, changes can be made to correct mistakes and improve the future to craft the outcome to be a memorable performance. Let me show you my story so far!

“ANCHISES”
Jonah Bokaer
Oct 2010
I have had the great opportunity and experience working with Jonah Bokaer & Meg Harper, former long term students of Merce Cunningham who now are known worldwide for their extensive workings and unlimited creativity. I was asked by Jonah Bokaer himself to help with the world premiere of his company's new piece, ANCHISES. For this, I was required to be his personal stand in for their technical rehearsals and pick up his complex choreography in a short amount of time, which proved successful.
“Thinking outside the classroom”
Wave Arts Agency
Jan 2010 – March 2010
This was a project I was recently employed by, teaching a series of workshops to a class of GCSE dance students.
The end product of this project was a sites specific performance that took part at a conference centre for the academic board. I was responsible for leading the workshops, teaching skills and technique and choreographing a motif for the students. The workshops consisted of a warm up lead by me, learning a set piece and also pairing the students for contact work to result in duets for the sites specific performance. I also demonstrated contact lifts, with my colleague for the students to think about and use in their duets.
Experience during Education
“Interrupted”
June 2009
This production was my end of degree dance show. I was responsible for large sections of choreography, lighting and sound director and also played major part in the performance.
“Community Dance”
20-24th April 2009
This was a project I did whilst at university, which took place at a primary school. My colleagues and I went into the school to teach workshops for a week to their year 5 students. At the end of the week, the students put on a short showcase performance of what they had learnt.
During the workshops, I lead warm ups, played memory games, taught short pieces and got the students create their own pieces.
“Showcase”
June 2008
At the end of my 1st year of degree, my colleagues and I performed a showcase performance of pieces that we had created throughout the year. This included contact duets, short motifs and a large work based learning performance that was choreographed by us and Candoco’s, Mark Brew.
“The Book Of Lost Things”
January 2008
Male lead in 1st year degree dance show. I also choreographed major pieces in the show.
