- SKY ACADEMY LEADER
MAY 16- ONWARDS

Worked with school kids across Europe between 8-16 years old construct news reports and short fictional pieces. This would be in relation to their school curriculum. They are educated in developing, pitching and producing their ideas.


- VIACOM INTERNATIONAL EVENT
APRIL 17

Teamed up with MAMA Youth Project to speak to senior management of VIACOM. The interview touched on their inspirations, struggles and advice on getting into the media.


- THE MUSLIM NEWS NEWSPAPER PUBLICATION
MAR 15 & 16

Wrote questions and interviewed winners from the awards ceremony which can be seen on YouTube. Conducted an interview with London mayor Sadiq Khan during the ceremony.


- WHATS UP TV SEP 15 – DEC 15

Presented, shot and edited (using Avid) packages for YouTube as extra content for the Sky 1 show.

- EAST LONDON LINES JAN 15- AUG 15

Produced and presented news packages for the student run independent news site. The items were edited using Avid.

N2K, INTERNATIONAL TECH SHOW JUNE 17 – ONWARDS
Researcher for ITN

o Researched content suitable for the targeted audience in the Middle East.
o Wrote and compiled scripts for the show.
o Completed music cue sheets.
o Created weekly English scripts and time codes.
o Corresponded and liaised with agents, PR and online talent for permission to use their videos.


CHANNEL 5 NEWS JULY 17 – ONWARDS

o Booked travel and secured location for interviews.
o Used social media platforms and media database to locate and research talent.
o Dealt with invoices and payment fees.
o Wrote briefs for the presenter and news programme editor.

SKY NEWS JAN 16 – MAR 16
TV & Digital production researcher trainee

o Transcribed videos and interview packages from Arabic.
o Created OLAY for TV packages.
o Researched and wrote stories for Sky News Snapchat App.
o Managed music reporting and image usage reporting.
o Liaised with contributors for interview with foreign desk.
o Researcher for a Swipe segment (Sky News Tech show) focusing on the use of virtual reality in ‘Classroom School Trips’ which aired and is online.
o Partook in a piece on 360 filming which aired on Sky News.
o Partnered with both online and mobile team to create packages for those platforms.


WHATS UP TV (MAMA YOUTH PROJECT) SEP 15 – DEC 15
Researcher for Sky 1

o Cold called and secured contributors and locations with no budget.
o Researched and created briefs for crew and presenter.
o Completed paperwork e.g. call sheets, risk assessments, licensing for existing materials.
o Logged and pre-edited shoots.
o Pitched ideas to producers which included musicians Adam Lambert and Big Narstie aired in episodes 1 and 2 of the show.
o Office running duties which included catering, environment management and general duties.
o Collaborated with directors, cameramen, presenters on shoot.
o Liaised with music companies to enable use of music.
o Used social media platforms to promote the show and the interview itself, before, after and during filming.


ITV NEWS JAN 15 – MAY 15
Researcher

o Created Freedom of Information requests. One of which focused on mental health was aired on ITV news.
o Collated and packaged information for news broadcast.
o Transcribed videos from Arabic to English.

A journalist with extensive knowledge on how a broadcasting company is run for news, TV shows and online. The ability to speak both English and Arabic has enabled me to strengthen my communicational skills.
