About Me
A wise person once told me "die with memories, not dreams" and I would like to say that this
quote has inspired me to do a great deal of many things. One of those things is to do whatever
it takes to pursue my lifelong dream of performing in theatre.
I first becoming involved with performing arts when I was young, I went to see a production of
Sleeping Beauty at my local theatre and this inspired me to take lessons.
I joined a local performing arts school and gained much experience. I was represented by their agency and I went to many auditions. I was fortunate to appear in the West End show "Never Forget" at the Savoy Theatre. I learnt so much about the industry and myself at such a young age and it was an experience that will stay with me forever. I met some wonderful people who gave me good advice. I was with the show for three months in the winter of 2008, touring with the company for another three months in 2009.
In addition I have also performed in some amateur performances at both my secondary and drama schools which really helped boost my confidence. In 2016 I worked in a horror maze as a 1920s maid and I have also done some modelling with pictures being used for corporate companies.
At the moment I am currently studying an HNC in Performing Arts. I very much enjoy all of my classes especially my acting class which is my personal favourite, I love getting into a character that's a complete contrast from myself. I also very much enjoy my singing classes because our teacher is very good at encouraging us to progress further.
In my spare time I volunteer at my mother's primary school in which I sometimes teach the children drama. I find this to be very rewarding.
I have worked part time in McDonalds. This experience taught me to be on the go 24/7 because it was always busy there and you had to be prepared for everything. I really felt like I was part of a small family because you all have to look out for one another and work as a team under pressure. I am now currently working as a cashier in Iceland and it is very similar to my previous job. I having gained good communication skills here not only by speaking and assisting the costumers but by also communicating with the hearing impaired. This led me to enrol onto a level 1 British Sign Language course. I have found this to be of great value.
I consider myself to be a polite caring individual who is willing to have a go at anything and is always eager to learn. I enjoy meeting new people and would say I am easy to get along with.
I look forward to continuing my education, pursuing a subject that means so much to me and to realise my ambition.
