About Me

I graduated from Drama Studio London and worked in TIE, community theatre and panto. After a break from acting to raise my family, I returned to performance as 'A Tale to Tell...' and am now successfully working full time as a freelance performance storyteller, drama practitioner and actor. I work in many different settings and with many different organisations, including The Lowry Theatre, Salford. I tour one-woman shows which demonstrate my ability as a character actor. I write, direct and produce, but above all, love to share a good story.

General Experience

Working under the banner of 'A Tale to Tell...' I work as a freelance performance storyteller in the oral tradition. I visit schools throughout the country and work with all key stages, including preschoolers. I not only tell stories but I facilitate workshops to help children create their own.
As a drama practitioner I work with schools and with young people and adults with learning difficulties and disabilities: facilitating drama groups and mounting full-scale productions. I also work with the Lowry Theatre to explore drama with all keystages using the artworks of LS Lowry or recent Lowry Theatre productions.
I am part of Jude Theatre's Professional Actors which takes applied theatre out to mental health, probation and police services for training and therapeutic purposes.
I tour several one-woman shows: '7 Ages of Woman; Violet's Story; A Guest of the Knutsford Hotel; Workhouse, to name a few.
