About Me

My name is Dawn L Foster i am a wheelchair user and also an amputee (right leg above knee). Since taking voluntary redundancy in 2004 from my job in Housing i went to University to do a Drama & Theatre Studies with Media Degree which i completed in 2009 and since then i have been trying to break into acting through working as an extra so far i have only done a couple of jobs one being on a Television Series called Apparitions in 2008 and the other being a Feature Film called Reds & Blues (The Ballad of Dixie and Kenny)

In my acting experience i ticked film (student) because there were no other options for students when i was a student i had experience of acting in Theatre Plays and i have also written scripts and directed them at university as well as doing some technical theatre both sound and lighting and stage management.

I was in the audience of both Deal or no Deal and The Paul O'Grady Show. I was an extra playing an abortion protestor in the first series of Apparitions Episode 4 (2008) and also i was in a Feature Film as an extra playing an Everton Supporter the film was called Reds and Blues (The Ballad of Dixie & Kenny) (2010)

I have 15 years Administration Experience working in different departments of the Liverpool City Council Housing Department and also South Liverpool Housing between 1989 and 2004

Qualifications & Training

BA Drama & Theatre Studies with Media Graduated 2009, I have also completed a four week Bananafish Management Casting Workshop as well as private tuition in acting

Relevant Skills

I have lots of different skills such as working as an administrator i could play a part working within an office, I know its not really a skill but being a wheelchair user and an amputee i could genuinely play a disabled character instead of getting an able bodied actor to do it. I can play piano upto grade 2 standard although i would have to practice a piece of music first as i havent played for a long time. I can also do different styles of wheelchair dancing.
