About Me
David O'Connor was born on June 16, sharing his birthday with Stan Laurel and Malcolm McDowell. Growing up in various places around the Midlands of the UK, it was in 1987 that he came to live in Daventry, Northamptonshire. David was an inquisitive and imaginative child. On a school report dated June 1988 his teacher Miss Sturgess commented "he enjoys all forms of creative activity including drama, singing and music". It was at Daventry William Parker School that the real interest in acting began. David makes no secret of the fact that school life was difficult and not a joy. He found relief and escape on the school stage, performing in school productions of Bugsy Malone and Macbeth among others. It was here that a boy who spent lunch periods in the school library away from others, filled the school auditorium. A shy person, David did not finish his college education. Instead a career in hospitality and catering beckoned. Then one day in 2007 David realised that if you do not try, you do not succeed. So began the process of auditioning for acting schools, culminating in his attendance of the reknowned New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in America. Dedicated to an ultimate truth in his work, David is a committed and ambitious artist who strives to meet this quote of Sanford Meisner.
"Achievement is knowing you have done the best you can, success is being praised by others. The most important thing to me is achievement."
