About Me

My name is Corrine-Lucilla Vanderpuye and I am currently a student at Milton Keynes College studying on a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts course.

As well as being able to work on my own initiative, I have always been able to work well in a team environment. I am a very determined worker with good communication skills. I would consider myself to be a fast learner with the ability to implement new procedures and ideas as well as being easily adaptable to different environments. I enjoy the company of others; I have a good sense of humour and a high degree of self-motivation.

Throughout my first year at College,I was involved in the first musical theatre show which was a Motown theme and I sung three numbers which included;
Stevie Wonder - Lately
Boyz II Men – 4 seasons of loneliness
Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell – Aint no mountain high enough

I then went on to be part of the Musical Theatre showcase and sung only one solo song which was Queen Latifah ‘I Know Where I’ve Been’ from Hairspray.

I have been asked sing at various different events, some of them being fundraising events. I have sung at birthday parties and Black History Month showcases as well as sad events such as memorials.

I am Currently an assisstant dance teacher for a local dance school in Milton Keynes called 'On Point' which I have been doing for the past two and a half years.

I have performed on the London Palladium stage 3 times in total. We have been titled UK champions numerous amount of times, and have then gone on to compete in the World championships in Germany twice, Amsterdam in 2010 and also in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Every year we do the British Isle championships in great Yarmouth, and never go away without a trophy. Throughout the past 9 years of being at ‘On Point’, I have won numerous amounts of competitions in solo’s, pairs, group, team, big and little, and trios. All of which I am at a championship level. in 2008, we competed in 'Britain's Got Talent' and got through to the Quarter Finals.

We recently took part in a video shoot for an R'n'B music video which took place in Milton Keynes.

My most recent achievement was coming 17th in the European Championships in June 2010 which took place in Amsterdam.

Whilst competing in the Germany World Championships two years in a row, we came in the Top 50.

I am a very active person and enjoy reading and writing. I take part in sports including Street and Hip Hop Dancing which I have committed myself to for the past 9 years, so being reliable and committed is not a hard thing for me to do. I enjoy playing basketball. In order to participate in this activity, it requires dedication, commitment and major team-work which I can relate to. Watching all genres of film and listening to diverse materials hence an open-minded individual.
