Experience & Qualifications

General Experience

At present I am a street/commercial dancer at the very popular 'Players' Bar located in Newcastle. A normal shift consists of about 6 'sets' in which me and the other dancers perform freestyle dancing to the lively, rowdy crowd. This job is just my starting point in my performing career as it leads to gaining important contacts and opportunities. It also gives me the chance to travel to big cities such as Manchester and Liverpool where other Players bars are located.
Players is my first performing job since leaving college in June earlier this year. During my time at college I performing in 4 show's, for the first 3 show's I was one of the main dancers in the Ensemble, then in my final show at the college I was cast as 'The Wicked Witch' in our production of 'The Wizard of Oz'
Aswell as performing in shows, I have also performed at many events such as; weddings, parties and fundraising events with my dance teacher Darrien Wright. Darrien is an oustanding teacher who I aspire to be just like. He won 'Strictly Dance Fever' in 2009, was a dancer in 'Fame' the tour and footlose and has danced for the artist 'Pink'. His most recent success' are his casting in a dance show called 'Musical Rocks' where he performed multiple shows over in Vienna, and he is now the choreographer for the Leeds Panto production of 'Snow White'.
I am 'champion' status in Freestyle Disco dancing and have gained titles such as; North East Champion, British Champion, World Champion, Diva Champion and Miss Freestyle Champion. I have competed all over the UK which has gained me tremendous confidence and the ability to cope exceedingly well under pressure.
Recently, I was offered a full scholarship from Maxine Glasby- owner of Expressions academy of Performing Arts. Unfortunately I declined the offer as I wanted to take a gap year to gain more auditioning experience.
