General Experience

I consider myself to be a highly motivated, tenacious and enthusiastic individual which I feel are skills which help me perform well in all aspects of work. I have just graduated from University of York where I studied Law and I am now completing an online advanced diploma in special event planning and design to become an accredited Event and Wedding Planner.

Qualifications & Training

I do not have any official acting/dancing/modelling training or qualifications although I did attend drama school when I was younger and have performed in school drama performances as well.

Relevant Skills

One of my main skills is my ability to lead a team as well as performing as an effective team member depending on what the circumstances call for. In 2013 I was given the position of Head Styc (second and third year contact) during freshers’ week. This meant that I was in charge of 50 freshers students and 20 second year students who were also Stycs. This role involved co-ordinating all of the students to make sure that they attended the freshers events as well as important meetings, and making sure they got home from nights out safely. My organisational skills made a big difference in how I performed a leader as I was able to co-ordinate groups of students to be on duty at different times by creating a timetable for the week which ensured that everyone knew where they needed to be. This was a position of great responsibility and I was congratulated by my college welfare team for completing this role with a lot of integrity. I have demonstrated my teamwork skills by taking part in a World Challenge expedition to Norway, in which teamwork and communication were vital as we trekked to the top of a mountain, canoed the length of a river and undertook numerous challenges. Furthermore my Silver Duke of Edinburgh award also required teamwork skills with both expeditions demonstrating that I work well in groups; taking on leadership roles as well as taking a supporting role as a team member.
I am confident in speaking publically which I demonstrated in making it to the final of the school public speaking competition when I was in Sixth Form as well as winning the poetry competition, which involved performing a poem in front of an audience. I also developed my communication skills when I was elected as my law firm representative at University which meant conversing with both staff and students to ensure the course met the needs of everyone.

Interests & Hobbies

My passions include keeping fit and I especially love running. I have completed two Great North Runs and am currently training for a marathon in October. I believe that this is a testament to my truly tenacious personality and my tendency to set myself challenging goals and achieve them. In 2014 I completed the Great North run for the Stroke Association, raising £390 for this charity. In a similar vein, I also completed Tough Mudder in 2013 which prove that I am not one to shy away from a challenge and I am keen to put in a lot of hard work to produce a successful result.

One of my biggest interests is in events and weddings. I am constantly reading wedding magazines such as ‘Wedding Ideas’ and ‘Brides’ magazine as well as keeping an active interest in weddings and events through social media sites like Pinterest and Instagram. I am constantly on the lookout for courses to attend in these subjects as a way of furthering my knowledge and passion for weddings and events, and I am a member of the UK Academy of Wedding and Event Planners.
