About Me

Spending two inspiring years at the Arts Educational Schools London has solidified my desire to enter the industry.While at ArtsEd, I have participated in regular ballet, pointe, jazz and contemporary lessons, both inside and outside of school. Previously, I attended Christ’s Hospital School, where I immersed myself fully in school productions, fuelling my adoration for live theatre. Through performing at Christ’s Hospital and experiencing the long hours of rehearsals and hard work, I came to realise that I wished to pursue a career in the performing arts. At Christ’s Hospital, I was a member of their renowned chapel choir and marching band; it was an incredible experience to march in London on St Matthew’s Day, at Lord’s Cricket Ground and at the Lord Mayor’s Show in 2016. Outside of my academic studies, I attend singing lessons and achieved a distinction at Grade 6; currently, I am preparing to take Grade 8. Recently, I spent four weeks shadowing director Christopher Haydon in rehearsals for a production of Harold Pinter’s The Caretaker at the Bristol Old Vic. This further enabled me to expand my creative skills through working alongside a professional cast and crew, and to see first-hand the intricacies of professional working relationships. For me, participating in the rehearsal process and aiding the development of the production was incredibly rewarding. Being directly involved in creative discussions alongside the cast and team of highly regarded industry professionals fuelled my creativity and desire to pursue my career in theatre. This placement is evidence of my dedication, hard work and resilience, which, I feel, are imperative to a career in theatre. Throughout this placement, I was able to observe the creative balance between the actor and director. In March, I attended a two-day course with Hollywood acting coach Ivana Chubbuck, who presented her interpretations of Stanislavski’s Emotional Memory, a technique with which I am familiar. The course also informed me of another approach one can use to access and understand a character’s emotions.
