About Me

From a personal perspective, I play a very active role with volunteering. I have a key role in a social enterprise company – ‘Live UnLtd’. I represent young people in the North, advocating for better facilities and also am involved in the selection process prioritising who should receive funding. From this, I have developed key skills in interviewing, time management, research and the ability to confidently travel across the country. I also work voluntarily with our local volunteer group; I help to attract ‘non-traditional’ volunteers such as young people with disabilities or young carers to play a pivotal role in our local community. Halton is the 15th most deprived area of the United Kingdom, as such I have refined skills such as arbitration, communication and persuasion. I have numerous other volunteering roles which are too many to discuss. I have subsequently presented my work to other volunteers and have now been nominated for a volunteers award.

Educationally, I am an autonomous learner and take pride in my academic work which is reflected in being awarded a Head Teachers award. I prioritise my studies before my other commitments and my AS levels demonstrate that I am on target to achieve very high A2 results. I particularly enjoy Theatre Studies and am very proud that numerous of my modules have been awarded 100%.

During my school years, I was appointed as head of the media team, which involved promoting my school and also writing and publishing articles in the school magazine – from this I have developed some skills in team-working and delegation. One of the most enjoyable areas of my personal development resulted from working as a peer mentor and also providing educational drama to other young people about the dangers of the internet. I have a responsible role as a lifeguard and I feel that this has shaped my professional behaviour.
