About Me

I am a media and journalism graduate and have as a result developed a great knowledge of the contemporary world of media.

However although having gained alot of behind the scenes exerperience I am keen to develop and expand on the 'on camera' talents that I have acheived to date.

I am a happy and upbeat person who is always up for taking a chance and giving anything a go!

I have presented a freelance short documentary for a local competition and won first place.

This made me keen to persume a career in media studies and after learning theory and research behind the business I am keen to move infront of the camera and expand my options.

I have modelled garments for a fashion student to display in her final University presentation and project.

I have modelled for a freelance photographer to increase and improve both our exeperiences and portfolios.

I have catwalk modelled for Classic Look Hair Salon and Academy several times as well as participating in Hair Shows.

I have worked and modelled as a 'ProMo Girl' for eXecutional.

General Experience

Journalist:
Glamorgan Gazette (July 2011)
Attended a week’s work placement at the Glamorgan Gazette during which I practiced investigative journalism by interviewing the public and writing up final news stories – 4 of which were put to press.

Runner:
BBC1 Media Runner (March 2011)
Worked as a media runner for the BBC1 show ‘Big Question’. The show went out live therefore increasing my responsibility and role within the production to a great extent. I welcomed the show’s guest speakers and audience members and made seating arrangements. I also featured as an additional audience member on the show during which I had the responsibility of handing the show’s host (Nicky Campell) his note cards when he was out of camera shot.
March 2011

Production Assistant:
Tinopolis (May 2011):
Worked behind the scenes of S4C show 'Wedi 3'. Assisting the productor with presenter cues and directions. This experience made me keen to expand and try my hand at presenting!

Sales Assistant:

I have gained valuable skills from various part-time jobs that I have endured in order to fund my time at University. Waitressing and retail work have taught me how to work under pressure within demanding situations. I have always enjoyed the fast pace of the workplace and work well on my own initiative or within a team. From these experiences I feel I am able to make sensible decisions quickly and solve problems effectively. I am confident in dealing with people and customers and ensuring they receive excellent assistance due to my enthusiastic, accommodating and overall happy and approachable manner.
