About Me
My name is Barney.
I am 23 years old and music is my life.
I grew up in the Salvation army, taking up the cornet at an early age of 6, and have solo'd many times on this and more recently the tenor horn, where I recently was a soloist on a tour of Scandinavia with the band.
I joined the choir when I was 15, teachingmyself to play bass guitar for the group, and haven't looked back. This was one of the best decisions I have made, as I have played in countless venues and for many groups with this, aswell as more recently earning money doing so.
I would love it to become my full time profession but haven't had the right break yet!
I enjoy sports, mainly football and play twice a week, aswell as still playing with various groups, playing regularly.
I recently gigged with a friend who is trying to establish herself in the music business, and played at a place called Komedia in Brighton for her Album launch.
I love to play my music and would love to do it more!

Employment History & Experience
I have been playing bass guitar since I was 15.
I have much playing experience, teaching myself so that I could play for the church choir, (Salvation Army Boscombe) which plays all types of music, from gospel songs to classics, and has recorded a CD since I have been in the group. I have also toured Ontario, Canada with this group and a short weekend tour of Holland also.
Through this I have met different people, and been asked to play for many different groups. I play for a choir course, which happens once a year, for a week, and I have been asked to play bass for this every year for the past four years, with a rehearsal on the Thursday night before playing the concert on the Friday night in the Lighthouse, Poole.
I also play with a group, Salvacosta, which has many CDs to its name also, and this is run by Darren Bartlett, a big name within the Salvation Army around the world.
I have attended 'music schools' in the past, and always been top of the list to play Bass guitar when needed during the week long courses.
I started being paid for my playing at the college in Bournemouth for the shows within the drama department. I did two shows whilst I attended the college, and have played some recently, including the Witches of Eastwick, Spring Awakening and most recently, Les Miserables.
I have also depped for a Rat Pack band within the Bournemouth area, a well established semi professional group, which plays very regularly. I love toplay swing numbers, including Sinatra, Basie, Buble etc.
I have recently started playing with a newly formed cover band, which is based in London, and this is still establishing itself, but we have already played some gigs, which have been well received, and gradually we are having more dates booked.
I am also a tenor horn player, since the age of 16, having played the cornet before that since I was 6. I have passed grade 8 exams in both of these with distinction and also music theory.
I play with the Boscombe Salvation Army Band, one of the UK's premier army bands, playing principal horn, and was recently a Soloist on a 9 day tour of Scandinavia, including Denmark Sweden and Norway. I have a solo on their most recent CD recording, and love to perform.
