Job Specifics:
Details:
We have an opportunity for a charismatic and talented South East-based professional musician to join our team to run choirs in or near Ashford, Deal, Folkestone & Hythe. This a rewarding position musically. We were the first contemporary choir in the UK and remain the most popular and high-profile. We have won three Guinness World Records, achieved two top-twenty albums, and been the subject of a three-part ITV1 documentary The Choir That Rocks.
As a Rock Choir Leader, you should possess fantastic piano and vocal skills with the ability to teach at the same time. You will be organised, reliable, charismatic, energetic and able to work both alone and as part of our world leading musical team. Full training is provided so you can apply even if you have not run a choir before.
The ability to work enthusiastically as a team player is key (no divas please!) Successful applicants will join the current team of more than 60 friendly, supportive and outgoing musicians who are already enjoying their career with the UK's favourite contemporary choir. Opportunities to perform on stage and on TV come with the job. You would work a 3/4 day week leading choirs learning popular songs with 1 additional regular training day per month and work 30-35 weeks per year with our long holidays. Arrangements and many other resources and support are provided. Your choirs would mostly take place on weekday evenings and you would be leading the choir members (who will become like an extended family to you) to concerts locally and nationally.
You also have the chance for career development in specialist areas once you are settled as a choir leader.

Here is a quote about the role from one of our choir leaders - "I started working with Rock Choir in 2007 and I am so glad that I did. I spend my week teaching amazing communities how to sing in harmony in a really fabulous and safe environment. My favourite moment of every session is watching a choir sing through a section of a song in harmony, with full confidence and watch their faces when they hear how amazing they sound! I have been with Rock Choir for 16 years and I am looking forward to what the future brings." Sam Smith (Surrey Rock Choir Leader)
