Job ID: 12372
Job Specifics:
Details:
We have an opportunity for a charismatic and talented Cheshire-based professional musician to join our team to run choirs in Macclesfield, Leek, Congleton, Buxton & other areas. This a rewarding position musically. We were the first contemporary choir in the UK and remain the most popular and high-profile. We have won three Guinness World Records, achieved two top-twenty albums, and been the subject of a three-part ITV1 documentary The Choir That Rocks.
As a Rock Choir Leader, you should possess fantastic piano and vocal skills with the ability to teach at the same time. You will be organised, reliable, charismatic, energetic and able to work both alone and as part of our world leading musical team. Full training is provided so you can apply even if you have not run a choir before.
Our Leaders teach a minimum of 4 evenings a week during term time and have long summer holidays. You would lead your choir members to concerts on a local and national basis. We have a supportive and friendly HQ team who provide you with all the training, resources and arrangements you need to lead your choirs to the best of your ability and you would also train once a month with your peers. There is also the opportunity to be part of recording experiences, and TV and radio appearances!
Own car and portable piano and PA are essential. Please note that you will be able to fit your other musical passions or commitments around leading the choirs.
If you would like to join our expanding team of successful Musicians, please complete our online job application form on our careers page. Do apply now even if your winter gig timetable or panto schedule are foremost in your mind currently so you are able to jump from those commitments straight into your choirs. If your application is successful and you are invited to interview at our head office in Farnham Surrey, we will contribute to your travel expenses.
Here is a quote about the role from one of our choir leaders - "Being a Rock Choir Leader means that nearly every weekday night, I get to spend quality time with 50 to 100 of my closest friends." Maxine Cherrie (Cheshire and Lancashire Rock Choir Leader)
