Details:

THEATRINO is EDUCO'S Theatre In Education drama programme, in collaboration with ACLE, which is a non-profit organisation endorsed by the Italian Ministry of Education, operating successfully for over 30 years. The company promotes a student based teaching method and was the first in Italy to use drama to teach English to children through Theatre In Education (T.I.E.) with our touring programme, THEATRINO.

A position on our Pop Music & Culture Tour involves touring around the country, leading Italian secondary school students (aged between 11 and 18) through interactive workshops based on ‘Pop Music and Culture’. You would be working independently with a class of about 25-30 students at a time. The workshop is already prepared (and successfully done on the road) and is primarily a power-point presentation with live guitar playing and singing throughout.

ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE CONFIDENT SINGERS WITH THE ABILITY TO PLAY GUITAR.

The songs you’d be performing are already chosen and go with the particular workshop requested. Songs are often updated during the tour to keep up with the Top 40 Chart. There are 3 different workshops offered depending on the students’ age. The workshops are 60 or 90 minutes long and you would usually do 3 or 4 a day in one or more schools, with around 25-30 students each time. You wouldn’t be teaching the students music or how to play an instrument.
On that note, you don’t have to play at a professional level but enough to accompany yourself whilst leading songs.

As you’d be travelling around Italy with one other performer in a company car, drivers are required for this tour.

All actors must be available from Friday 8th January- Saturday 4th June 2016 (minimum). Educo provides a salary of 250 per week for new artistes and 280 for returning artistes whilst on tour (paid monthly), accommodation, car and petrol and work insurance. A return flight from London to Nice (our closest airport) and consequent transfers to and from Sanremo will also be provided. If unable to take this flight, a 50 contribution will be made towards arrival costs, and 50 towards leaving costs at the end of tour.

During rehearsals, you will receive a total wage of 300 plus shared room accommodation, breakfast and lunch. Whilst on tour, you will receive 250 per week (paid monthly).

Rehearsals will begin on 8th January 2016 until Saturday 23rd January 2016. Tour will begin on 25th January 2016.
Please note, the exact length of the rehearsal period is subject to change. This may be extended to Saturday 30th January, meaning that tour would start on Monday 1st February. In this case you would receive 450 for the rehearsal period.

All artistes must be available from Friday 8th January to Saturday 4th June 2016 (minimum).
